Business Activity Statement (BAS)
|
The Business Activity Statement (BAS) is a reporting form introduced by the Seychelles
Revenue Commission effective from 1 January 2010. It allows a business to report and pay
for a number of taxation obligations in one easy to use form. These obligations include
GST, Pay As You Go (PAYG) instalments, PAYG Withholding, Excise Tax for locally
manufactured goods and Income & Non-Monetary Benefits Tax.
The BAS is a way of combining a range of taxes into one statement to make it easier for you report
information and remit payments that are due to the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC).
The BAS needs to be completed and lodged by the due date which is the 21st day of the month following
the month your liability was incurred. Any other amounts owing may also be paid on the BAS.
It is important to make sure you sign the BAS and to keep a copy of your activity statement and
the records used in the preparation of it for 7 years in case the SRC has any enquiries or choose
to carry out an audit on a business and its books.
Taxpayers have the option of using either the Manual BAS or the
Electronic BAS.
The difference is that the electronic BAS calculates the tax liability for you. Please choose the BAS you prefer.
